Guinea pigs do not synthesize vitamin C, which is essential for them: a vitamin C deficiency can initially result in tiredness, difficulty moving, a decrease in appetite, and more serious symptoms if it persists.
The daily requirement of vitamin C for a healthy guinea pig is 20 mg/kg supplied by the diet.
Francodex Vitamin C covers 3/4 of the daily requirement as a supplement to the daily ration.
This requirement triples during illness, convalescence, pregnancy and breastfeeding (60 mg/kg).
Directions for use : shake the bottle before opening.
For maintenance : Using the measuring cup, add 5 ml per liter of drinking water. Give daily.
During convalescence : triple the dose, i.e. 15 ml per litre of water to be drunk for 10 days.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding : triple the dose, i.e. 15 ml per litre of drinking water, for the entire period.
Precautions for use : Vitamin C is sensitive to light, so it is recommended to change your drinking water daily. Use as a supplement to a balanced diet.
