It's a python of modest size, which rarely exceeds 180 cm in length.
On the belly it has two spurs, which are nothing more than hind limbs vestigial , which tend to be longer in males. The rostral scale is large and clearly raised. The internasal scales are long and pointed. The prefrontals are equally large and clearly protruding. Behind it follows a band of irregularly shaped scales, which probably represent the posterior prefrontals. The frontal scale is almost always large and divided in two, but may also consist of just a group of differently larger and irregular scales. The supraoculars are large and undivided or consist of numerous small scales. [ 3 ]
It has a brownish color with black spots and streaks that give it a particularly pleasant livery to the eye, furthermore it has a head with a peculiar shape called Heart, which distinguishes it above all from the boids
