Happy Cat Care Kidney (kidney diet) is particularly suitable for feeding cats in the initial stages of kidney failure.
However, this diagnosis must be confirmed and clarified by the veterinarian.

What is kidney failure?
Renal failure refers to a decline in kidney function, resulting in the kidney no longer being able to fully perform its natural functions.
The kidneys maintain the cat's fluid and electrolyte balance, and their main job is to eliminate water, salts, and metabolites.
They are also responsible for blood formation and affect blood pressure. Blood is filtered within the renal corpuscles, and toxins are released into the urine through the tubules.
In kidney failure, waste products of metabolism are no longer eliminated adequately.
Substances that can no longer be excreted in the urine collect in the blood.
It is therefore particularly important to support renal metabolism with adequate nutrition, without subjecting them to additional strain.

Is your cat with kidney failure refusing to eat?
Cats with kidney problems frequently suffer from nausea and therefore often eat poorly.
When switching from regular food to Happy Cat Care Kidney, take your time and offer your cat maximum comfort.
The following tips can help you change the diet of cats with kidney disease:
- choose the right bowl and the right space where the cat should eat (for example, a wide and flat bowl to keep the whiskers free while the place needs to be quiet)
- offer food at body temperature
- identify and eliminate stressors and changes
- clean the cat's bowl regularly
- check the storage of the feed
